If rumors are to be believed…which of course we all dearly hope they are…Apple is ready and waiting to unleash the long-awaited iPad Mini as early as this summer. However, the %u2018confirmation’we’ve all been waiting for with baited breath seems to have come not from Apple, but from their arch-rival company Samsung Electronics. According to the latest stirrings from a well-credited Samsung source, a company official let the cat out of the bag during a recent press interview, where along with unrelated spiel on data deduplication he also let slip how much Apple has been spending on key iPad components. Should he be as well-informed as it appears, a smaller iPad with a screen size of 7.85 inches is not only in the pipeline for 2012, but pretty much ready to hit the shelves worldwide.

iPad 3 rumours

The iPad revolutionised the technology market, just like the iPhone did and pretty much any other innovative Apple product before that. Then, the iPad 2 came out packed with more processing power and more features. Oh well, both of these products now belong to the past, and with the increasing competition, Apple better come up with something really good. The next iPad is yet to be officially announced but as with any Apple product, some of its features have already been revealed.

An iPad for your thoughts

The King is dead, long live the King could well sum up the position the iPad has come to occupy in our lives over a laptop. Sure, a laptop still has its unique benefits particularly when the needs are more complex like downloading a file or doing some extensive work on excel, the laptop still wins hands down. Not to be outdone, the iPad is fast catching up. The newer models particularly have more advanced features that make the earlier versions seem archaic. And it won’t be long before the later versions overtake the laptop completely.

Why buy an iPAD

Last week my friend moved into our city and he wanted to set up an office for himself. He wanted to buy a laptop, but I was suggesting him to pick up an iPad. There are a lot of options when it comes to buying a computer and most of the time we are not able to make the right choice. Mostly experts believe buying an iPad is better than investing in a laptop. Most of us are on the go, hence Apple created a device that would be lightweight and convenient to carry. When you compare the weight of an iPad it is less than a laptop and it makes moving around easy. One of the best things company claims is related to the battery life; the iPad would give you 10 hours of battery backup, however a laptop would give 2 or 3 hours backup.

iCloud On The iPad

You have to admire the business continuity of Apple. With the iPad 2 already the most dominant tablet in the market, it is hard to imagine any other company coming close to Apple in terms of functionality and storage. The new Sony tablet looks good and could be even better technically then the iPad but it is hard to see it overtaking the dominance set by Apple in the near future.

Samsung Strikes Back

Samsung Strikes Back

Apple won its case against its major competitor on the tablet market – Samsung. The California company won the patent case brought against the South Koreans after its claims that the latter copied some of the design and hardware features of the iPad was respectfully confirmed by an independent German Court in association with Swiss Justice delivering organs. Nevertheless, Samsung is about to appeal the decision, this time with stronger arguments to rely on.

Ipad sales boosted in Europe after its second edition saw the day light in the EU stores. The product has been the major selling tablet of the year and with its thousands of apps available for users, it remains the strongest machine from the tablet technology out there. This is the reason why Apple needed a proper decision in this case – this is the only way it can show that they are actually dominating the market and force the competition to adapt to their innovations.

However, Samsung appeals the decision of the court. The sales of its Galaxy Tab were banned in Europe after the decision and just within days the appeal case is filed. Samsung now claims it has incorporated universal tablet design that has nothing to do with Apple as the technology inevitably adapts to similar design concepts. Furthermore, the people from South Korea confirm that there are common technological approaches that cannot overlook the hardware usage – after all, every computer has one and the same hardware composition and the same is happening with tablets. Apple is thus claimed to have no rights over assigning tablet technology solely to itself.

So while you are browsing Red Diesel England suppliers on your tablet, you can surely think about how controversial tablets have actually become – Apple and Samsung are on the way of resolving one issue among many to come in the tablet wars.

iPad Slide

iPad Slide

The ipad has become an intricate part of everyday life in the office and at home. People have been buying it in their droves and it is estimated that Apple will ship over 14 million more tablets by the end of the year. Despite this amazing statistic a report from The Guardian indicates that there is still some scepticism in some quarters in the print medium. However the most common complaint has been holding the tablet in position when moving about. Fortunately there is a simple answer in the form of the slide for the ipad.

It was surprising that this feature was not thought of upon the initial release of the ipad last year. That said it could have simply been a clever marketing strategy from Apple not to release a slide stand straight away. ‘Always leave them wanting more'has been a mantra recited by performers for centuries and Apple is no exception. Having the slide on your iPad not only makes the tablet much easier to place on a desk or a corner of the room or in the kitchen when you’re making dinner, it also prevents accidental damage to the screen.

The slide is useful for taking the tablet on holiday as well with many users taking advantage of good international roaming charges to enjoy all their favourite shows and internet sites when on the move. Reasonable priced at £36.99, you can still find it cheaper if you do a little bit of research before purchase.

Well worth the money.

Maximizing Your iPad’s Battery Life

Maximizing Your iPad’s Battery Life

The ten hours of battery life of the Apple Ipad is quite fantastic, however, for those who use the device throughout the day, it is very likely for it to run slow soon. To maximize the battery usage for your iPad, there are settings that can alter within it. The customization of your iPad to utilize less energy allows your battery to last longer.

You start with turning your iPad off and unlocking it. Tap “Brightness and Wallpaper” on the Settings menu and drag the slider down to 50 percent brightness or even less. Adjusting the brightness will allow to utilize less energy. Moreover, an adjustment to the “Notifications” button from “On” to “Off” also makes sense, as its going to prevent your device from showing sounds, badges and alerts on the screen. Turning off the programs that will immediately drain the battery for instance location services, email, virus protection, and push notices definitely will help maximize the battery life of your iPad.

In addition, if you don’t really use Bluetooth keyboard or headset, it makes sense to disable the Bluetooth radio in order to extend the battery life. Go to the Settings menu and flip the Bluetooth tab off or on. You can also turn off the vibrate feature if you have a game using it. Keep in mind that your battery wont last long if you are running intensive video games.

Finally, make sure that you charge and completely discharge the battery once every month. This allows the iPad battery to function at top efficiency.
