Pausing An iPad App Install

Pausing An iPad App Install

Most applications, like that for data scrubbing, are expected to come in less than 20MB size, but if you wish to download iPad games with hundreds of megabytes, you would find conflicts along the way especially when you watch a movie on Netflix or maybe try to save your bandwidth at home. This makes it necessary to pause an App install.

It is also important to pause an app install when you update multiple apps and you would want to give a priority to a couple of apps first while the others wait. To do this task, you can start by tapping on the new application icon to pause the download or installation.

When you pause an app, you can observe the emptying on the blue status bar while the Loading status is changed to Paused. If you want to resume the download process, you just need to tap on the icon once and the progress will continue the process as the blue bar indicates. You will notice that the app will first download and then it will install.

Pausing an App install in your iPad is really easy to do. It does not need any complex process. All you need is to understand this simple process and this will help you manage the consumption of bandwidth.

Until they figure out how to make it easier to install an app without you having to worry about other apps not functioning while the install is going on, this is what you will have to do.

iPad: The Good, the Bad You decide

iPad: The Good, the Bad You decide

Tablet PCs are more popular now than ever before. With the latest iPad that came out people are fascinated with what this latest technology can do. Because of the Apple iPhone and iPod the company already had a large fan base. The iPad has an impressive look but it is not easy to tell if it will truly make the impact that the iPhone and iPod did. There are plenty of excellent features on the iPad but one should consider the positives and negatives before buying an iPad.

Positive things about the iPad:

· The applications are available right from iTunes.

· The size of the iPad seems to be just right. You can easily carry it around and it is big enough to do office work on.

· Other companies are trying to compete with the iPad when it comes to book applications however the iPad has them all beaten. iBook offers a vast array of books and has an easy to work interface.

· Not only can you view movies on the iPad but with Netflix apps you can view any movie legally. If you have a Netflix account then your app comes free.

Negative Things about the iPad:

· The battery life is good but the battery itself isn’t replaceable.

· The virtual keyboard is not the best. It can be difficult to write long emails from the iPad.

· The iPad is very expensive. Other tablet PCs offer reasonable services for their price.

Like any product there are positive and negative things about the iPad. It doesn’t mean that like old files you should put the iPad into file archiving but it does mean that you should know what you are paying for.

Apple Mac Products – High Quality Computing and Electronic Devices

The Apple Company is known all over the world for it’s extremely attractive but very useful and functional computing and electronic devices. Apple was originally known for its quality computers, but of late it is known more for its iPad, iPhone and iPod.

Apple is still known for its desktop and laptop computers. The Mac Pro is one of the best computers that have been built so far. The Mac Pro comes with enormous processing power and is quite expensive. The less expensive computers are the iMacs. These computers are “all in one computers”, which means that everything is included in one piece as you do not have to have a separate CPU or a screen. The screens of these computers are huge and they have high processing power in them. Less expensive are the Mac mini which has less processing power but are more affordable, but is a great computer at the same time. There are two types of laptops – the Apple MacBook and the MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro is very powerful, sturdy and expensive and is a very useful laptop, especially for professionals on move.

It was Apple which introduced the Apple iPod that is a revolutionary portable digital music player. Today, the iPod has several models. The iPod shuffle is very small, and can nearly be compared to the size of r4 cards, with only a few buttons as it has been designed for ultra portability. It is a smaller version of the iPod classic. It usually comes in small storage sizes, but can still load a lot of videos and music. On the other hand the iPod classic is bigger in body size, screen size, storage capacity, and is priced more.

The Smartphone market was revolutionized with the introduction of the Apple iPhone. The iPhone has made it possible to access the internet on a phone. It is a touch screen device with a huge app store, full web browser, and has many other great features. The iPod Touch offers an iPhone like experience, but without the phone functionality. The iPad is simple and comes in a tablet size. It has a touch screen computer and has thousands of apps, an eBook shop and a full internet browser.

Thus, it can be seen that the Apple Mac Products have a wide range of extremely high quality computing devices, though it is expensive. However, it delivers modern, secure and functional devices and gadgets.

General Features of an iPad

General Features of an iPad

While asking an apple-fan friend of mine for Free Antivirus he managed to change the direction of our discussion to the features of the iPad he just acquired. For the first two weeks, he was unable to put it down. The only place he went to without it was the shower room. According to him, the iPad is one of the best gadgets he has ever seen. Part of the attractive physical characteristics is that it is light and thin yet very loaded in technological terms. It was designed in a way that makes it easy to be held or even carried about. Surfing the web, listening to music, watching music videos and reading books cannot be easier. The flat, compact yet loaded gadget is an experience on its own.

As tiny as it appears, the iPad has an excellent battery life which has the ability to run for ten hours. This obviously means that the owner can travel long distance without having to recharge the batteries. This makes the iPad a good choice for long flights. There is one camera at the back and the other in front. The cameras can be used for taking pictures, recording videos or for video calling. More about the cameras is that they are designed for what apple calls FaceTime. While making video calls, users can simultaneously show images of themselves and that of their immediate environment. This means that your friend can see you and also see what you are doing in a way that the videos will not interfere with one another. There are many more stories to the iPad that you need to discover.

Pick up the right accessories for your new iPad

Pick up the right accessories for your new iPad

The iPad is without a doubt one multifunctional device which can do so much stuff that it is almost unbelievable. However there are a few ways in which you can enhance your device and make it even better.

A very useful addition to your new shiny toy is a durable case. I consider this to be the first thing you should buy, just because it will protect your iPad and keep it operational for longer. There is a great variety of smart looking cases. The prices start from around 15 quid and go as high as £100- the same those gas companies charge you every month. Some cases even have a built in stand so you can easily rest your iPad on the desk and watch a video without the need to hold the device in your hands.

Then, it comes the iPad docking station which is well known to all Apple users. You simply place your device on top and you get instant charge and wired connection to a computer or other compatible device.

You can also hook up the standard Apple wireless keyboard and use it as you normally would with your Mac. It is practical and convenient. However you will probably need either a docking station or a case with a stand in order use it as intended to.

But the best choice in terms of price/practicality is the very nifty looking keyboard- docking station which allows you to type faster while utilizing the whole screen area. The iPad Keyboard Dock also charges your device and allows you to sync it with a pc or a MAC. This device combines the docking station and the keyboard. The latter one is no longer wireless but I am sure that you can totally live with that.

iPad mania

iPad mania

Hands up if you have your iPad2? I would imagine if you’re reading a blog about iPads then the chances are your hand is firmly in the air right now! Unless you live in one of the Asian and Middle East countries where demand has so far outstripped supply that many people who pre-ordered machines or who queued up on release day to get their hands on the new kit have been left disappointed. Never mind all the hundreds of thousands who were going to wait a couple of weeks until the hysteria died down before they went iPad2 shopping!
I haven’t read any similar stories about supply issues in London or customers being left empty-handed after queueing overnight – which they were doing in my local shopping centre. The problem here seems to have been connectivity issues. Or at least, at my place of work it has been. Maybe it’s just our network, but IT support in London has been rushed off their feet with iPad2 queries since they were supplied to all the sales guys a few days after their release. I was out with some of the IT guys the other night for a few drinks; exactly the sort of folk who should be excited about the iPad2, yet they were all so mad with the problems created by the new changes that they’ve sworn off them for life!
Changes are inevitable in technology, and advances and developments are always great, but not just for the sake of it so you can bring out a shiny, new product to drain a few hundred quid from everyone’s pockets or credit cards. And certainly not when those same changes are going to make it more difficult for people to effectively use your product.

Apple Apps

Applications specifically meant for Apple have crossed the 10 billion mark this January. Apple has also been able to be the single company whose applications for the iPad as well as the iPhones have been downloaded the maximum number of times. Facebook for the iPad is closely followed by Pandora Google Mobile application and Shazam Movies by Flixster are the top of the free iPhone application that have been used. It is therefore evident that when it comes to iPhone it is entertainment that the users are looking for, and not the mobile broadband abroad services.

When it comes to the iPad one would see the applications like Soundhound, StickWars, FlightTrack, Backbreaker Football and Calorie Tracker making it to the top ten of the chart busters in popularity rating. These of course are from the paid application list that is available for the iPad.

iPad has heralded the death of personal computers. So the applications that are going to come now would be mostly iPad based. Apple themselves have the history of changing their gadgets and coming out with new experimental ideas which takes the world in its sway. It is therefore difficult to state what particular direction the application development market would steer given this very zigzag course that Apple steers.

There is the Google Chrome OS that apple is using for its iPad which makes computing that much easier for the user. There would be for sure some touchscreen tablet running on Chrome and then the software market would once again take a weave to flow a different direction of flow.

Given the demand and desire of the people towards entertainment on the move, applications in this one field would surely grow in bounding steps. It is however to be borne in mind that there is no fixed route that can be chalked out when it comes to application and software development but one thing is for sure that, given Apple’s spread of market share and specially so with its iPad and iPhone, the application development market would sure be biased towards Apple to an extent.

IPad Apps For Business Professionals

There are the believers that Apple is not meant for business people and the only purpose of all its gadgets is sheer entertainment. They also hold a firm belief that the only software and hardware combine that could meet the demands of the business world is the Windows 7 on the HP Slate. They are also willing to extend their belief for the Google Chrome OS, but the buck stops there for them. Apple and its plethora of gadgets hold no business productivity promises for these believers.

Even though not very similar to a laptop, the iPad has the power to give a stiff competition to the Laptop even in its various functions.

For the business people in search of applications which could be useful to them, some are as follows:

• Webex. There exists no need to have a Cisco account to attend meetings held by them. The Webex software allows an iPad user to attend the meeting. One has to have a Webex account if one wishes to host the meeting though. It also works with ample internet security.

• Instapaper Pro. For users who commute frequently and read while doing so, the Instapapaer Pro is a very handy application that permits for saving the web page to your gadget for later reading. The app comes with a onetime payment for use by the subscriber not only for the iPad but also for all the other sister gadgets such as the iPhone and iPod Touch.

• Memeo Connect Reader. For people who use Google Docs for their business productivity, this application of MemoConnect Reader is a very beneficial one. This application allows Google Docs to be carried on the iPad. It is not necessary for the iPad to be in the “on” condition because the application makes sure that Google docs are synchronized as soon as the gadget is switched on. This application has the advantage of wide format compatibility including Microsoft office formats.

These are but a few of the applications that are associated with the iPad. With the launch of the gadget there would sure be many such other applications that will also flood the market.
